Oiling Question

Ok, so im getting ready to put my sbc together and have a question. I like the old style valve covers that say Chevrolet on them but hot no oil hole. But i dont like the intakes with the filler tube in the front. Is there a way to get the best of both worlds. Can i put a fill hole in the valve cover. Anyone done this before with success? The covers are flat without the ribs, but have the raised lettering. Maybe i just need to pick one or the other.

What type Crankcase venting does this Engine have? PCV? Down draft tube system?
If the fill neck on Intake has a Breather cap the new fill hole in Valve cover will need one if you change Intakes. You could add a PCV hole in one cover & fill/vent hole in the other. A Hole saw for drill works perfect, then deburr the hole & add Grommet/Cap/Breather
