Funny story about Okies. I live in Bakersfield which is in Kern County in the Southern end of California's San Joaquin Valley. This is the area where many dust bowl refugees landed and the book "Grapes of Wrath" is about Kern County. Kern County also has 4 of the 10 largest oil fieldes in the lower 48 states.

Our congressman Bill Thomas was escourting the Governor of Oklahoma around California. At one of the rubber chicken dinner stops, Thomas bragged that His home Kern County produced more oil than the whole state of Oklahoma. When it came time for the governor to speak, he opend with, "Well, Kern County may produce more oil than Oklahoma, but you also have more Okies than we do!"

Maybe your not projecting the right image to your friends and neighbors. I'st of all, your driving a town car. Get rid of the TC and buy an old pick up truck with a gunrack and a hound dog in the back. Buy a chevy and put it up on blocks in the front yard. Then just sit out on the porch swing and wait.......if you do that they will come.

Steve...just kidding...I love OK. Was back there in May visiting relatives. Got kin from DFW to Joplin. My Ma PA, and brother are Okies but family moved to Ca. in '48, so I was born and raised a city boy here. Its just like Ok. here, cuz I know more people from OK out here than I ever knew back there.

We'll still be your friends on the net.

Don't forget the rebel flag. Actually I've never seen any cowhick with a dog in the back. Only seen a few gunracks, most had fishing poles on 'em, but I've seen a bunch of inbred looking people. Steve <----Mr.NotInbred
