For $15, I'd go for it. The switch shouldn't cost more than another $10 to $15 at the local hardware store (I just replaced the switch and wiring on an old flexible goose-neck metal lamp from Home Depot). I don't have that model, but I do have a Daytona motor powering a home-made grinder and it works very well. I can post specs tonight if you need them. I also see these Daytona motors set up for lathes go for a lot of money on eBay, if that means anything.

Is it a Dayton or a Daytona? Dayton is Grainger's product line. Usually pretty good stuff. Daytona Precision has been around since the early 90's. They import their stuff and it sells in big box stores.
