i just had an opp to buy an old garage....has numerous old parts from old cars. while the old owner retired and moved away....i have no earthly idea of the value or make of all the parts.....any suggestions as to get started.
i am not a mechanic and bought the property because of land value.

Check a few items at a time against Ebay ads, get an idea maybe. Dan

Get ready for PMs from our members about those parts........................Maybe, you will be lucky enough to pay for that land with those parts.

goldmine / junk pile
If you find the right people it is probably a goldmine. Sadly to most people it is just junk. I would look online for a custom car club or a swap meet in your area. You would want as many people as possible to look at your stuff if you want top dollar. The swap meet / carshow is your best bet at top dollar, but the most work. The car club or custom shop may make you an offer on the whole lot and pick it all up. PLEASE JUST DON'T SCAP IT ALL! You may have a real rare peice of history there!

See if you can ID what car company made the parts, then see if you can find a car club that favors that make. Or maybe one of our Cali members lives close enough to make a personal visit.

Are these parts new parts in boxes ... with part numbers?
If, so, some auto parts sites can cross-reference them to their numbers and may even display pricing.

It may be quite helpful if you could post pictures here of the parts; I'm sure someone could identify them.

Are There any body parts such as fenders or doors? You could post a few pics and see if anybody knows what they are.
