Saw a pretty cool old big rig today. I should have snapped a picture but i was in a hurry. But here's the model it was. Probably 60's dodge big horn. It had a creepy intimidating look to it too. It was dark green. And it had the smoothest sounding diesel i've ever heard. Just thought it was cool that there's still older trucks out there working and being used.
Notice the size of the cab in proportion to the front end?
It won't be long (in Cal, anyway) where the laws will outlaw the old rigs. Since they opened the borders to mexico, it seems like one way to keep the old rigs they have down there from driving into Cal is to regulate them to where the can't come in. Of course, we don't need any additional smog, the air is filthy as is.
My brother still Remembers factory fresh Brockways (hes 44). Sad when they left Cortland, NY. Last "Huskie" was built June 8, 1977 I believe. A lot were shipped to Iran back in the 70s.
When i think of a big rig the image of a w900 in the first think that comes to mind. It just has that classic look to it. The new t680 looks pretty cool though. They did a nice job on the aero look. Much better than the t2000 which i have heard nothing but bad about.
.
I've seriously considered being a truck driver. The thing i worried about is the money and never being home.
