old skool dakota

Hello everyone, Im from Louisiana, the northern part of the state. I have always liked working on cars and trucks, im a retired heavy equipment mech. My current project is a 97 dodge dakota xtra cab. Im putting a newly rebuilt v-6 with a 5 speed. the truck was wrecked in the front and all the sheet metal was damaged, after looking all over and not being able to find a suitable front clip I decided to go old skool. I have a 38 Dodge grill, grill shell, and radiator support that I am going to put on the front with a flat hood and run open fenders. the old bed was in good shape but Im going to pull it off and put a 40's model Studebaker bed. The truck has already been lowered. No one ever said I was normal, I guess I just like being different. Anybody have any other ideals Im open for suggestions. Thanks Wayne

Welcome to the site oilerwayne. You have come to the right place for info and opinions about your project. Check out the Knowledge Base or use the search function to find quick answers and info. As well check out the Project Journals; maybe you want to start one of your own. Good luck with your Dakota.
