old steering wheel to new column adapter

Does anyone know of an adapter to allow mounting a 36' Ford Banjo steering wheel to a new style steering column. I figured it would be a good idea to ask before i make my own. Its going to need to be a female spline to mate to the column and a tappered post with a keyway to mate to the wheel. I cant be the first to do this can I? Should I just give up and buy a modern wheel?
