i have a POWEREADY tune up/system analyzer unit from the 60/70`s. i haven't used it for a year or 2 but now i want to go over my car since i installed a new carb. the car has an MSD 6AL & Mallory Unilite in it.

my question is, can i use my old TECH equipment without ruining it on the new hi-tech ignition ?

this unit has the following testers:

a primary analyzer (test battery voltage,coil resistor,ignition switch,cranking voltage,charging voltage,primary resistance,point dwell,idle speed).

ignition analyzer (coil polarity,power balance,carb balance, plug wire testing)

combustion analyzer (carb tests)

charge/start analyzer (cranking volts/amps,alternators)

timing light unit and a tachometer.

Does the car have (2) ignitions systems, MSD & Mallory???

You can use everything except the point dwell and tachometer.

For adjustments like advance curve, you will need to follow the factory instructions for the specific ignition system you are using.

the car is using an MSD 6AL box with the Unilite dizzy .

i tried to use the testers,nothing works.

i will look for someone to check out the testers.
