Question olds

ok, I have a good set of cast rods. my machinist told me he can polish the beams and shot blast them. with good bolts and rotating assym. balanced he thinks it will be good to 5800-6000. I found an edel. intake, got L2323.30 powerfoged pistons, a nodular iron crank at .20-.20, a comp 280h cam, spings, a carter afb750, and heads with air bumps ground out and mild pocket porting. Is this a good combo. I have built many small block chevy's but this is my first big block. Is my machinist tying to sell some rod work or will this be ok? the car is a cutlas with 4.11 rears good preped tranny, and a 3000 rated stall(trans shop recommended with this buildup). everything is bought but the rods.
