Post Olds 403 Help

Hey guys new, member here. I just pulled the 403 out of my 79 Trans Am. Heres my build up so far:

1.SSI 224/234 flat-tappet cam
2.Olds 350 heads w/64cc chambers
3.TH350 tranny
4. 2.07/1.625 valves (heard they will fit)
5. 3.73 gears
6.Holley Avenger 770
7.Edelbrock Performer

How does that sound so far? ANy good piston recomendations??? (flat top)

Hey I'm doing the same thing maybe you could give me some advice. I just started mine and am having all kinds of problems finding high proformance parts. Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Hey I'm doing the same thing maybe you could give me some advice. I just started mine and am having all kinds of problems finding high proformance parts. Any information would greatly be appreciated. One thing you might think of is the clearance on your shaker hood because if you add a new intake its going to jack up the carb then when you put the scope on and close the hood "CRUNCH".

Looks like we 3 kings will be good friends. i just bought a 1979 Trans Am 10 annivedsary edition too. i started with the brakes. but the small block heads were an excellent choice.

P.S. Just out of curiousity you guys wouldn't happen to knowif a shaker scoop from the early to mid 70's would fit on ours. because those were the years that the vents opened from the vacuum created by the carb.

Yes they would, they are almost exactly identicle from '76-'81. The only difference is the height of the scoop some are 3" some are 3.5". Go <a href="http://www.pontiactransamshakers.homestead.com/" target="_blank">here </a>and you'll find what your looking for. I don't have a 403 olds, but I have a '77 T/A in the works and used to have a '80 bandit.
