Olds silhouette 4t60e periodic no downshift at stop

I have a 1998 olds silhouette w/ 4t60e and it will periodically have what I call a "no downshift at stop" condition. Basically as you come to a stop it does not seem to drop all the way down to 1st. It feels like you're taking off in 2nd, a firmer press on the gas causes it to go to 1st (or its engaging harder) No codes. Trans was replaced at 106K with a reman, now has 154K.

Ideas?

Dirty Throttle Body

You probably just need to clean your throttle body. This happens on my truck sometimes. The crud line that builds up keeps the throttle butterfly from fully closing. This in turn throws the TPS off. The computer won't downshift first if it still senses throttle opening. Use B-12 chemtool cleaner, it works great. Make sure you use eye protection when spraying the cleaner. olnolan
