Olds "UHV transistorized ignition system"
I previously posted a question which asked for a source of information about a GM-Olds conversion from a '65 breaker point distributor in a 330 cu. in. Oldsmobile to a HEI
electronic distributor that came in on 350 cu. in. Olds engines in 1975 or 1976. Thanks for that excellent answer and link.
In the Feb. '89 magazine "Collectible Automobile" in the article "1964-87 Oldsmobile 4-4-2: 'Anti-Boredom Machine' ", it says on page 39, that new for the 1967 year were a number of performance options (new from 1966) including "a UHV transistorized ignition system". Evidently it was available only on the 4-4-2 package which was available only on the Cutlass Supreme that year. Was it different from the HEI distributor that came in 7 years later?
Also mentioned is a "W-30 air-inducted motor rated at 360 bhp" which evidently refers to a sub-package called "W-30" available only with the 4-4-2 package on the Cutlass Supreme. Does anyone know anything about this "air induction system?
Thanks, Jimra1944
