OMG i could have died....

After a 150 mile trip to take and get my car back to the exhaust shop...everything was fine. (Exhaust place isnt 75 miles away, just i had to do some running around) This morning i went out and back out of my driveway (about 20 yards total) and i heard a pop and my front right side dropped down a bit. I knew the tire didnt blow, and i was like WTF. Went out and my wheel had come off and it was off the studs and it was proped against the front panel, bent it in half almost, i ran and grabbed a floor jack from my house and jacked it up. I pulled the wheel out and saw that all 5 of the lug nuts had broke on the studs, all that was there were the shafts of the lugs (aftermarket wheels), i couldnt get them off, and i needed to get the car outta the road, so i had my mom watch the wheel (i put it back on the best i could) if it moved i stopped went out and gave it a few kicks back in place and pulled it into my yard. All i gotta say is WHEW, would have sucked if it came off when i was doing like 100+ last night WHEW im lucky.

I don't know too much about bikes, but a brother stopped by the shop last week on a crotch rocket and was real squirrly on it. As he left the shop, he got on it for some reason. We are on the end of a dead end frontage road, so you can hear them leave for a few miles. As he got to the hill, bout a 1/2 mile away. We heard a screach and then nothing. Little bit later, here he comes walking. The dog bone that the rear shock is connected to broke, which sat the bike down on the rear tire. That at 50+ MPH and we would have been hosing him offthe tarmac

when its your time

My wife always says things happen for a reason and at and appointed time. We can't live holding our breath that something terrible is going to happen to us.... Only hope its not your time. And the beat goes on!! Sorry to hear about your ride man, then again you were lucky I guess??

Years ago I was out all day driving my 65 GTO with my girlfriend. When I was pulling into my driveway the pitman arm popped off, I lost my steering and I smashed into my neighbors fence! Luckily neither of us was hurt and the car had minor damage. The cotter pin had fallen out and the nut worked its way off!

something fell off

I drove a 65 VW bug home from work. Pulled into the driveway and the steering went away. Called a guy who built bugs, sold the car to him and he towed it away. I had just got off the highway doing 50-55, no more bugs for me----ever!!

I got to look on the bright side, with the fender coming off, im just gonna pull the drivers side and find a 79 Z28 or so and take off the vents in the front fenders and weld them into mine, they look sweet on 3rd gen if done right.
