Omni 182 help!

I wasn't thinking clearly this morning when I mixed up some omni 182 primer. Instead of 5:1 I mixed it 2:1. Will this work out? I sure hope that it does not need to come back off. Block it out? Am I screwed?

Thanks for your help
Chopper

That is an awful big swing.

If it were me I would want it off, period.

Really the only one that could give you an answer is PPG as they should know best.

I agree with barry, that is quite a difference in mix ratios. You want the measurement somewhat close. i've already mixed omni 4 to 1 by mistake, so use to a lot of urethane primers being 4 to 1, but I don't think I would feel comfortable myself with that much extra catalyst. Guys at work must never measure out the dang primer, always end up having a lot of primer left and no hardener when you are trying to get something in primer before going home. I've beotched about it a couple times. Wouldn't extra hardener be more prone to chipping and becoming brittle, At least thats what happens to fiberglass resin if you mix it too hot. You can call ppg, but I can imagine what their reply would be. More product sold, don't want to be responsible saying you could let it slide and have people complaining later cause of problems and they said it was okay.

I was hoping to avoid taking it back off. I just hit 3 areas that needed touch up, otherwise the rest was blocked out to my level of perfection. I'm going to have fun sanding it off then getting the pannels flat again.

The local supplier said no problem with overcatalizing. PPG said strip it off.

It really is time to find a new supplier!

There is no excuse for that kind of advice.
