There I was, sitting there with the kids, watching the Creston, Iowa 4th of July parade, when this cool little buggy rolls by. I had just told the kids it was probably VW powered, even though it just did not sound quite right, when I caught sight of the engine. It was a Harley Davidson engine! Sure surprised me.

We found it at
Chopper Rod

Kinda neat concept, but that thing is pretty damn ugly.

crazy larry 07-05-2004 04:05 PM

you think it's gonna be anything like the 70's, hi gas prices, ugly *** hi milage cars taking over the roadways?
i bet it sounded tuff.

ChevelleSS_LS6 07-05-2004 04:48 PM

thay should make a "twin mill" version in a dune buggy "body". Oh that'd raise all sorts of heck.:)

stepside454 07-05-2004 07:32 PM

yep, would look neet as a dune buggy body

I'm sorry, but if I'm gonna do anything to a car that would remotely deserve the title of being called a 'hot rod', it's gonna have a bigger engine in it than what's in there now.

Shoot, I'd drop an SBF in a go cart. This guy just did the opposite.

I guess that's what happens when you have too much junk laying around and get drunk.

I agree, I did find the concept unusual. But if I was going to build it a different engine would be sitting back there. It looks like they adapted a Harley engine to a VW transaxle. There is an adapter available to mount a Ford 2.3 to a VW transaxle. I think a turbo 2.3 would make it a lot more fun.

How bout a Hemi:pimp:

Mike

CrashFarmer2 07-06-2004 09:52 AM

A hemi would be a wild ride

Carzilla 07-10-2004 06:23 AM

it be awsome just to cruise around in, but for hot rod status it would need a bigger engine like a 5.0 HO or a 5.8 police interceptor

i saw a ford festiva with a harley engine in ithttp://www.fordfestiva.com/members/Mook/mook.htm

Carzilla 07-10-2004 08:23 PM

that festiva is :thumbup:SWEET:thumbup: its 340 more cc's than our geo metro. its an awesome paint job, but i would paint it black with yellow, orange, and red flames or green flames:thumbup:
