This is what comes close to the first block casting number
3933180....327...68-69...2 The 3970014 is a common number. 3970014....350...70-76...2 or 4 The valve covers sound like aftermarket covers. The only finned small block factory covers I ever seen have "Corvette" in raised letters. As for the heads you have: 376450.....75-81...262/267/305..6 or 7 exhaust bolt holes, 60cc chamber 333882.....74-80...350/400......76cc chambers 3973487....71-72...350..........1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves, was also used on '71 350/330hp LT1, 75cc chamber To know what each block came out of we need the suffix code which is stamped on the passengers side block deck, right behind where the alternator rides. It`ll look something like this example: CHL |

For $50 you came out very well. Look on the bellhousing flange of the 327 and find the date code. It`ll look like this example: B 6 9 This would break down to: B - The month B - Feb. 6 - The date Feb 6th. 9 - the year 1969 or whichever years that block was being casted. Also what is the number on the 327 shaft? |

All that for $50? That's a pretty good score. If you're looking to make money off of it, just the 350 "014" block is an easy $50...for your money back. The rest is all profit. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch of guys on here that would probably give you $50 for the 882's. I don't know why...but I'm sure they would...

this may not sound like the best plan but I want to perfect my port and polishing. Mostly opening exhaust ports and blending the fuel bowel. The last two heads guys bought them on craiglist and ,made me some money. So the 882 and 487 are gonna be doners. The guy said the 450 heads came on the 327 and i may leave those stock. I def dont think it was a bad fine. He also was trying to give me a 56 ford truck cab free. And it wasnt even rusty

Sounds like you got some nice valve covers and some scrap iron. Some people can make something decent out of what you got, I'm the type to sell it for $50 to get rid of it. Vortec engines, gen III engines, and LT engines all can be had in great condition for anywhere from $250-$1000. IMO it makes spending time/money on stuff like that kinda fruitless. Its enjoyable, but fruitless. Kinda like a bad drug habit i guess.

A 327 never came with 450 heads, I already posted what they come off of. Someone may have put those heads on the 327, but the factory sure didn`t.
376450.....75-81...262/267/305..6 or 7 exhaust bolt holes, 60cc chamber They are basic smogger heads best used as boat anchors or tire chocks. |
