Does the complete floor panel have an outer flange that sits on top of the trunk metal existing in the trunk or is it a piece that has to be flush fit with the existing metal and butt-welded? I imagine that may be the determining factor in how your replacement trunk pan goes in the car. Most panels I have seen put in trunks are butt welded with the existing metal in the trunk. The panel would be supported from under the car until it got it tack welded and then installation was completed. Maybe this link wil help some....
