One Sick Vette

read the text at the bottom right, also bigger pics!

Quote from somewhere: "...this Vette is limited by grip. Try launching...it's difficult, especially with DOT street tires, albeit ...345/30ZR-19 Michelin Pilot Sports. Launched at the recommended 2200rpm you'll find wheelspin in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears, each run a challenging (and exhilarating!) exercise in throttle restraint......"

Even with this they managed 0-100 in 7.3sec, a 1/4 mile in 11.6@136MPH, and 0-150 at 13.8. Skidpad 0.94. Because of lack of traction, 0-60 was 3.9sec. Imagine if they had of been running Slicks. TOP SPEED IS 205est.MPH.

In perspective... The Bugatti Veyron pulled 1/4 @10.8 @ 140 with 1000HP.

*if I were at the wheel, I would have no idea what to do. I'd probably just sit there and giggle knowing the potential the thing has

Yep, the Lingenfelter Vette is a monster and the stock new ZO6 Vette is an awesome machine at a fraction of the cost of a Ford GT, Viper, Ferrari all of which it puts down in just about every category.

If you go over to the Viper forum you can read the whiners complaining about how Chevy copied the Viper in styling. I wonder if they would like a little cheese with their whine?

I caught about 30 seconds of a Bugatti history show on the tube the other day. One thing they said about the Veyron was that it could be passed by a McLaren M1 doing 100 mph and the Veyron sitting still, Veyron then could out accelerate the M1 to 170 mph.

wow... that is fricken iNsAnE! (note unusual usage of caps). I'm wondering if the Veyron had an imprint of the driver's backside molded into the seat.

If it was not factory molded, I am certain it was after the first drive. I would imagine the seat actually would take the shape of the most receint driver.
