there is a supplier for 33.00 a gallon acrylic enamel, I cant remember the site. seems like it would be good enough for a daily driver, or a lawnmower or somthing.

www.spraygunworld.com has the best prices that I have found on house of kolor paint, they also have transtar and marhyde for primers and clears. Fast shipping too.

I have had good luck with www.smartshoppersinc.com too.

Try the urethane based paint from Kirker Auto refinish, I was told
they make paint for PPG among others,

They are a actual paint manufacturer.

Their web site is http://www.kirkerautomotive.com/

Also they respond fast to e-mail questions and you can purchase their products from http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/

I like the service I got from smartshoppersinc, very fair prices.

I purchesed my HVLP guns from these people, fast shipping etc and have
had zero problems with any products purchased from them.

Thanks .... X

As Bob suggested, I would check out Southern Polyurethanes. They have limited colors, but if you need primers and clears, they are hard to beat. Their products are top notch. You can check the prices online and call them to order, if they don't have a jobber in your area.

You need to consider how the stuff it packaged for shipping when ordering that stuff. It needs to be packaged properly to avoid spillage, and damage. I have a friend that works for UPS, and he was really impressed with how SPI packaged the stuff I got from them.

Don't you have to pay hazardous shhipping charges on gallon containers of paint?

I found that our local O'Reilley's sells HOK paint. They have it in pint and quart cans. They had quite a selection of colors.

Smartshoppersinc has higher list prices for ups shipping vs. truck freight in addition to a shipping charge that is based on a percentage of the order total but no additional hazmat charges. Some items they sell are truck freight only. I have ordered several gallons of primer and clear from them and quart sizes of reducer that have all been shipped ups. They use special clips on the gallon cans to make sure the lids stay on and use packing tape over the screw on lids.
Spraygunworld didn't list that they can't ship the large sizes. After I had placed an order they emailed me the next day telling me they have to charge extra but that I could email them back and request quart sizes. They wouldn't respond to the email and I had to call them the next day to get the order changed they had the entire order on hold waiting for me to tell them something. From then on I just started ordering quart sizes. The only paint I buy from them is house of kolor base and reducers. I use primers and clears purchased either locally or from smartshoppers.
