Opening Day Ozark International Raceway T 'n' T
Today was a beautiful opening day in the ozarks (Rogersville , MO.)!! I had claimed that I thought the LUV Machine should run a 10.00 flat (1000ft.) the first day off the trailer! Even for a street motor 388" with 441 heads and a .480 lift summit cam still running Rhoads lifters, the little truck sounded REAL strong!! So, after a shake down easy run of 10.79, I checked everything over and lined up again, this time, about 100 ft. out the truck spit n' sputtered to a low 11 !! I got back to the pits and pulled the carb apart, AAha!! some debris stuck in the neddle and seat!! To make this long story short, My best run was a 10.18 at 102mph!! 1/8 was 7.79 at 88mph!! I am spinning the lil' 8.5" slicks pretty bad off the line, my best 60' time was 1.750!! By the way, my boy pulled out a 10.15 pass on his second run down the strip EVER!!! I still claimed that I beat him though because I out weigh him by almost 100lbs. (100 lbs. is worth a 10th, RIGHT???)All things concidered, we had a GREAT time!!!

just a 10.15??? i wish i was running 10's. hell, who am i kidding, i wish i was running teens'......

I tried to download a couple of "On the Trailer" pics earlier and I got an error message for some reason?? Maybe Jon is still workin' out the bugs in the Photo Album?? Remember Larry, that's 1000ft. times, you add about 2 sec. to get 1/4 times! And the 10.15 wasn't by ME!! It was OddJr.!!!!!
 Right now, it looks like we'll be in the slow part of No/E class or FAST in trophy class! Last edited by OddRodder; 03-05-2005 at 08:16 PM.

Hey OddRodder! Sounds like that engine is dialed in pretty good! How far is that track from me? We are looking for a track closer than 80 miles{nearest to me}.
Also, did that 350 work out? I hope so! And your boy drove!? Man, when I met you I wouldn't have thought you'd have a Jr old enough to drive! Oh.. and the pics... use the edit option on the pic to bring it into your paint program and choose "image" at the top left then select "stretch/skew" and reduce the image size 50% by typing in "50" in both boxes. You may want to try this with a copy. If it still won't load continue to shrink it until it is a reaonable size in the paint program. Good Luck!

NXS, it's east of Springfield, MO. 20+ miles! Do you ever go to MoKan, in Asbury, MO.?? I took the Rumbler to the Hot Rod Reunion there last year! It would be great to shoot the breeze with you sometime!! Any chance that you might go watch the Big Boys run at Topeka in May?? If so, I'll buy you a beverage or two on sunday!! Jr. is 21, me and the lil' misses started young!!
Thanks for the tips on posting pics!!  I've just cleaned and oiled the block for now, but I will probably get it in to the machine shop in the next couple of weeks!!

Awsome! I've never been to MoKan, but this year I have a good feeling I'll be there with a 496ci 66Elky {silver} or a blue 240 Nissan with an aluminum headed 360 huffing the juice{both are my friends cars, but I'll be there}.

don't know how i missed the missing 320 feet...
last fall, one morning, i walked outside, it was so nice, still, and beautiful. just a wonderfully crisp fall morning.... Just like the mornings i used to go dove hunting with my old man when i was a kid...... but that morning, the thought that pervaded my mind, was "all that's missing are the race gas fumes." man i love the drags. glad you guys had a great time.  sup wit da block you just oiled? did i miss that too?
