Question Opinion on my choice of cams

The rebuild kit I got from my machine shop contained a cam (supposedly a LT1 spec'd)
222 I/E and .450 I and .460 E.
Do you guys feel this is enough cam for a '32 Coupe with a .060 over 350, 8.5 cr. and stock 76cc heads?
I was considering a set of 1.6 rockers to at least bump up the lift a little. Any opinions?
I would like a motor with a little *** , but I'm not expecting to run 13's.
As always, thanks for the replies.

Paul

Actually,I think your compression is a little low for that cam.I was considering it my self I believe it calls for a min9.5:1cr.But in the light car w/ some desent gear 3.55+ I would think it would probably run good. The lightness and gear would make up for low end torque loss.

This cam is also the L82 corvette cam. This was a 70s 8.5:1 motor I believe w/ stock single exhuast and quadrabog put out 225hp tuned down w/ smog equipment.Probably 260hp w/ headers and a good tune(my guess).

Also w/ a strait duration pattern I would keep the exhuast unrestricted like 2 1/2".With a split dur the exhuast lobe compensates for a restricted system.

That cam will have a nice lope but will be entirely streetable. I am guessing but with the induction sorted and a header you should get close to 1 HP/CI. Not too shabby and should get your car into the 14's. It all depends what you want and can put up with. I would build what you got and see if it is enough for you. More bumpstick would need better heads and carb and intake and.........etc. etc. etc.

Rockers are nice but won't give you a big HP boost, they work best with near stock type cams. The lower friction at the fulcrum is the main reason I would go for them.

As Monte said that's the old L82 Corvette cam. I've got one in my spare 350, with about the same compression. My only comment is that it does run on regular gas. I'd suggest you go for more compression (9 or more) before you go for more bolt-ons.
