A buddy who works as a chemist in the surface coatings lab for a huge chemical company swears by Matrix base and clear. He owns a body shop and turns out some killer work in the evenings.

from what I've heard from shops is that they make good stuff but don't have good formulas for color matching and their waterborne is garbage. That's just word of mouth though so I can't say from personal experience. Then again, I spent considerable time spraying SW ATX and I also hear those formulas suck but I thought it was fun tinting so thinking it wouldn't be an issue. What about clears?

I recall using their filler. I think it was called platinum but not sure. It was green and I REALLY liked how it sanded but it didn't feather out so good, which told me it doesn't adhere as good as I'd like. Still thought it was a damn good filler though.

I used it once and like it.

I have only used it once but the paint looks as nice today six years later as the day it was shoot.

I would use it again with no problems.

Hope that helps. Jimbo

My buddy Chris swears their clear is as good as any he's sprayed. As for which particular clear, I can't remember which one he fell in love with. I'm waiting on a reply from him about which one.

good stuff. I guess I'll try some out for my Mustang. Do they have a high solids quality clear?

Still waiting on a reply from him. He's laid up with a bum knee as of yesterday, I thought I'd have an immediate response since he's no good at sitting doing nothing.

Matrix Wateborne

Has anyone tried their waterborne line of paints yet?

Just wondering how you liked it.
