Are the vortecs worth getting? What are your opinions on the vortec bolt-ons??

The vortec heads flow better than any stock chevy head ever made. The downside is that the casting is not very strong and you will have to get them worked for a good lift. You can buy aftermarket heads for the same price that flow better.

alot of resorces say its almost impossible to port the intack without a flow bench and make it better. theirs also not alot of meat around the ports. but that just shows how good they were from the factory. not to argue with burn but i have never seen any headsthat are cheaper than the vortecs and flow better.

Check the new Scoggin dickey catalogue it will list the flow specs of all the heads they sell. One of them is alot better than the vortec at the same price. Around 212$ a head.

It's hard to believe but I've seen quite a few of them crack working at the junk yard.

cheap and if their not 18 degree heads than you can use a normal intack which saves money in the long run. although the prices for vortech manifolds seem to be falling a little bit.go getem burn
