Opinions Wanted, All Car, Car Show

Hello everyone,

We are thinking of getting a car show / rod run together and just wanted some feedback.

We are thinking of doing a ALL cars and trucks welcome show. We are trying to promote respect between all groups and ages, rods, 4X4s, imports, lowriders ect. Personally i'm a Hot Rodder but if some kid puts a turbo on his Civic thats pretty cool to me, better then them out drinking or doing drugs. I really think in some respects imports of today are just a spin off of the rodders in the 60's home modding their cars.

Would you be interested in a show like this? Comments and Suggestions welcomed.

Thanks,
Jordon

I would say 80-90% of the shows here in WI are "all cars/trucks/bikes" welcome and they include trophy divisions for tuner cars, trucks, bikes, rods, customs, and antiques (originals). I don't know if it's just here in the Midwest, but I just don't see that much animosity among these different types of owners and I sometimes think it is blown out of proportion. Personally, I like the diversity and wouldn't recommend doing it any other way.

Just my opinion

My opinion will probably be in the minority, but that's OK. I think that an All Car Show is fine. However, I personally would not spend too much time in the new car area. Being the old fart that I am, I'm more interested in Hot Rodding in it's truest sence. It seems to me that the majority of the NEW Rods consist of bolting on after market kits.

I miss the physical modifications of the days gone by. There just isn't much artestry in bolting on a spoiler, throwing on some paint or graphics and thinking that this makes it a custom.

Just my opinion and I'll accept whatever critcism this generates.

Bottom line, an All Car Show would not stop me from going, but where I would spend my time is a different story.

We used to have a really good all car and truck show until the guy that ran it moved away. Nobody else seemed to have the time to take it over. We even had a big truck class for semi tractors and drew entrants from all over the midwest. The mix made for a very interesting show.

My personal opinion is to favor the 60's muscle cars and street rods. Don't care that much for sport compacts, and bikes do not belong at a car show.

Car show people...

These people Arn't necessarily rodders or even builders or drivers. I know car show people who haul their prize around and push it off the trailer and on again...never start up the engine?? These people arn't the easiest to deal with either...everyone of them knows their car...should be the winner and you can't convince them otherwise because your prejudice or bias or just don't like their car for personal reasons!!!! Good LUCK Dude!!

The little sport compact thing around here in East Tennessee wouldnt get down broadstreet before people would start just lookin and laughin, I do it too. It just doesnt work when there are true TN people who speak their opinion and dont care who hears it, so most of the time the guys with the prostreet cars and real
driving customs follow them around rev the engine behind them and the tuners leave, so it doesnt work here in east tennessee. I dont think the tuner cars belong anywhere except a tuner car show. But thats just my .02 cents worth.

Summit Racing

Out here in Reno, Nevada Summit Racing puts on a car show every Friday night during the spring/summer. I went last Friday and their where a lot of different types of vehichles. Rat Rods, Customs, Low Riders, 4 x 4 Trucks, Imports, ect. The car show was a good mix of old school and new era hot rods....
