crate 350 help

Hi guys, I came here after looking for awhile. I Love this board due to the fact most people say it as it is. Ok I got a project close to being complete and need some help as to what I need to change. I have a 79 camaro with a new crate 260hp motor, changed to a 268he cam, shaved heads.03( 882 76cc smog) headers, 3.73, 4 speed original tranny rebuilt to factory specs, elder performer intake, 650 elder. carb. I want to hit in the high 13s in a 1/4(need to beat local 3rd gens ). Any suggestions and comments welcome, thanks to all that read.

I don't know what the static compression ratio of the motor is, but the cam needs 8.75-10.0:1. Heads are "less than exciting". Short intake won't help much. And if I wanted to seem halfway intelligent when talking with others about motors, I would use the proper name for manufacturers. It's Edelbrock, not elder. If your plan was to skin your 3rd Gen buddies, why did you buy a 260hp crate motor to begin with?

THanks 4 the reply. k Edelbrock 650 thunder, compresion mesursed is 8.7. used the 260 hp as a build up base. not sure of what I should expect. I know the heads suck but I am not sure what is used as a sel alignment for the vortex..
