Opmni BC/CC

Has anyone had expereince with the Omni BC/CC system. Is it similar to other BC/CC systems in flow, finishing etc? Was it more work than most BC/CC systems, IE. more coats, color sanding etc.? How about longevity, color and gloss holdout?
Thanks in advance

Omni base of course is one of the cheaper bases out there.
The Omni and Nason bases are an enamel conversion with all your high dollar bases are a polyester in some form or another.

Here is what you will experience with a cheaper base, the enamel will cause it to take longer to Flash and to cure.
So to solve this problem here is what you do. Shoot a coat and give it 20-30 minute (more is better) flash time before you apply the second coat and if you gave it 20 between the first and second than go 30 between the second and third.
Most important is when you have the base covered if time allows
try giving the base 45-60(overnight if can) minutes before shooting first coat of clear. (this will let the solvents out and the clear won't peel down the road and you will get better clarity in the gloss of the clear)

The difference is=
I just did the hood on my rover (spilled isocyanate's on it) and used Debeers, a high end base. Friday a 3:30 took off hood DA'd factory paint with 80 grit to bare aluminum, shot one coat of epoxy over aluminum and shot two coats of base with about a 3 minute flash time. Cleaned gun, mixed clear and shot two coats of clear. 6:30 wife helped me bolt back on truck.

Once the cheaper bases are cured they are a little weaker than the premium bases but not that bad, biggest issue is how many coats to cover and slowness to dry but if you have the time to wait between coats you can get a good job.

Is cheaper base cheaper?
NO! NO! and NO!
But I will let you folks stew and argue about that but just think about it. (The quart of Debeers Dark green Metallic cost me $60. - no sealing 2 coats was covered, no waiting. I still have a pint left over! Cost to spray $15 per coat)
That color in a nason takes 6-8 coats to cover, Omni could be worse.

Gloss and color fasting is Dependant on the clear not base.

Perfect explanation and comparison Barry. That was what I was looking for. Sounds like deltron is the way to go.
Thanks,
