original vavle cover clearance?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anybody knows if i was to use the old original chevy valve covers ( the ones that had the cursive chevrolet stamped in them ), would there be enough clearance for my 1.6:1 rockers. I don't know if it makes a difference but I've got AFR heads too.
anybody see any problems with planning on doing this?

I don`t think you`ll have any problems. But if in doubt, you can get the extra thick valve cover gaskets made of cork that eliminate this problem. Just make sure you coat the gaskets in vaseline, this assures they don`t dry up, get brittle and form a leak. I have a set of the script valve covers, I love those, I just haven`t found a way to go about using them yet. I did figure out how to run a PCV system with them though as I knew if there is no ventalation it`ll push all the gaskets out and cause havoc.

What I did was find a older Edelbrock streetmaster intake that had the provision for a oil filler tube in the front of the intake. Corvettes in the 60`s used this tube with a PCV that screwed into the tube. All you have to do is run the PCV to the tube and use a screw on vent on the top of the tube to assure it gets fresh air. You can still order this tube and PCV system from any site that carries parts to restore classic vettes.
