Thumbs up Orlando Back street drags?

One built 67 mustang loaded and driven by one guy known as ponybilly and one 33/28 pontiac 350/350 stock combo. One straight street outside of downtown Orlando.
Years of trash talking come to a end.
It was a cold friday night, the wind whipped around metal as ragged exhaust notes thumped the pavement....

"ah whatever! We got stupid on virginia and damn mikes rod is one of the fastest I have lined up against. I think balls won over brawn, but all props out! I would estimate you would do a 1/4 mile in 14.5-6 at 95ish. At the track I would have you by about .30 seconds or so, but you would make me work for it. This ponys hat is off for a rod/driver with balls!

I suspect you ended up with a nice low gear in that rearend. Next time you have it up in the air do a runaround on the tire and see what the ratio is. Probably 3.90-4.11 or so."

pony (double take) billy!

Ill never understand why all the tech talking guys always have a excuse of why the lost and what the car could do under the right conditions. the story continues as follows

"thanks for the kind words..well have to make a "REAL" run at the track some time....those tracks are just so damn fancy! all those seat belts and helmets? geeeeeeee ok Redneck Mike
El Presidente"

"You will not need to worry about a helmet, but yes seatbelts are required! I think its into the 13 second mark that they start making you use helmets...I think I am going to need on here real soon.

" I got another 25hp out of the latest stuff I have done, but the jetting is off so I was leaning out real bad at high rpms. Need to rejet and will probably be a total of 35-40 more hp. With my old times of 14.3-14.4 I should be shaved down to a 14.1 or so. Now if I could only figure out how to drive the damn thing I could get into the 13s.

"if you think I do 14.5's how can you be doing 14.1's and Im still winning by several car lenths?
all the tech in the world cant make anyone a good driver or a just plain crazy balls out driver?
Redneck Mike
El Presidente"

Nah, the other night I was spinning like a cartoon character. I never got it to hook up until I got into third. That was when I started gaining on you. I have an open rearend and it spun both tires twice in 1st and a good chunk of second. I also had to back out of it because of that truck. I really am scared to death of street racing. I probably should be called *****billy for that, but I have just seen too many people die doing it. At the track the ground is clean and stickier, so I can get better bite on the ground (and don't have to worry about oncoming traffic!). With sticky street tires I could cut .5 seconds off, with full slicks I could cut 1.2+ seconds off. I reference to being a better driver, a good driver can work even hard for all they are worth. I am hit an miss with it. With better tires I don't have to be as good as the tires take care of the traction all by themselves.

You beat me! No questions asked! But come out to the track and you will get a better idea of what my car can really do. I really want to see some real numbers on your car!

"well have to do that my friend! just remember that same clean road, no traffic, and sticky surface will be under my tires as well! I figure I could cut .5/.04/1.5 off my reaction time if I didn't have my boots on. I hear race sneakers add more horse power? Redneck Mike
El Presidente"

"No mike, its not race in sneakers, its "yellow stickers". Thats what the ricers tell me anyway. You don't really have a lot of traction problems. I have so much power that I cannot get it to the gound no matter what I do. You do have good pull though. I saw that out on mills!

(and it was my observation that the traffic on the road had very little effect on your throttle position!!!)"

"well a wins a win!! Ill get some belts in soon and we can to a run out at the track.isn't the run what ya brung on wendsay? be kool stay in skool Redneck Mike
El Presidente"

Have a great week!..the story will never end
