What do you plan on doing with it?? I own two, an InSight and a Vetronix.

When you say spark plug wires under load, what do you mean? Will it pick up a misfire under load? Yes it will.

I will try to help you as much as I can if you would like.

Steve

Its seems like a lap top computer with the right software could make a oscilloscope obsolete for most jobs. Yes?

no, a scanner most deffenetly. there would need to be an ossiliscope interface box that would connect to a usb/ serial port on a laptop, using only the laptop as the visual communication.

I haven't seen one, but I haven't looked either.

Last one I've seen was prolly 4 years ago in an old barn... it was owned by a cb/ham junkie.

do you mean connecting it to a high voltage wire? if so you need an additional high voltage probe (similar to this)to check secondary voltages as they are as high as 30,000 volts for some engine conditions, but as low as 12,000 volts for others.
