Oscilloscope

I'm thinking about getting an oscilloscope to do some troubleshooting with. Any recommendations on what to look for?
thanks
Gary

What do you want it to do? How many channels do you want or need? How much do you want to spend?

Oscilloscope

I don't know what I need. I'm just now getting into some EFI stuff. I guess checking the injector signals and maybe some DIS signals. Very basic stuff to start with.
Thanks for any help you might lend.

You might want to look around a few pawn shops for an older CRT style scope. You can get into some serious $$$ for a new one.

If you have the $$$ and want a good scope, Tektronix brand TEK 720 scope. It runs $3500 to $4000 plus tax.

Doc here,

Evil Bay..or Craig's list..Look fora Tektronix AT least 400 Mhz..Duel or quad trace and Snapshot would be nice..you could find tons of them there for under $100.00 good starters anyway..

Whatever you get, be sure it HAS all plugin modules and external cards..Probes would also be nice , however, you probably have to purchase them separate from a local supplier..Or if skilled enough, build you own.

Heck...I have a relatively new quad Trace Spectrum Analyzer 1 Ghz, with snap I sell ya cheap..$30,000...I'll even pay the ship.. J/K...

Happy Hunting!

Doc
