Ouch!! or Stuff happens!!

The shop where I work three days a week/ Built this Ecotec 2.2 a few weeks ago. The owner installed and fired it up last week.. It ran about 15 minutes and locked up..

Here is what I found when the head was removed..

This was a new valve and broke at the lock groove. The locks and valve tip sre still going up and down in the head..

Totaled the piston and valve, of course. Hole in cylinder wall and head will need a seat and four new valves. Supplier will catch Heeeeeeellllll..

Why is any of this the suppliers fault? Seems like a MFG issue to me.

Supplier is your first line of contact with the manufacturer.. Engine-Pro will get it taken care of..

Ouch is my first though, Then GD!! Then WTF! Then i am not paying a wooden nickle!! Fix it Fast and reinstall it !! No Problems!! LOL!!

Engine Pro gets their valves from Argentina. A major producer of valves along with Isreal.

Last time I saw something like that, the head had popped off at somewhere north of 8,000 rpm and the spring sprang ... Heard they found one of them in the grand stands
