The shop where I work three days a week/ Built this Ecotec 2.2 a few weeks ago. The owner installed and fired it up last week.. It ran about 15 minutes and locked up..
Here is what I found when the head was removed..
This was a new valve and broke at the lock groove. The locks and valve tip sre still going up and down in the head..
Totaled the piston and valve, of course. Hole in cylinder wall and head will need a seat and four new valves. Supplier will catch Heeeeeeellllll..:spank:
Last time I saw something like that, the head had popped off at somewhere north of 8,000 rpm and the spring sprang ... Heard they found one of them in the grand stands

except my bud was racing his high mileage motor...
