out of the closet.... (electrically)

Okay guys, the truth is out ... I have messed with engines trannies and everything else on cars for years but after that botched foglamp installation back in high school I began to get leery of electricity... Right now I am building up a 68 chevelle that came as a gutted car with absolutely no fuse box or wiring anywhere. I can buy a parts car (4 door) and remove its harness
or has anyone here every wired a car with the painless wiring kit? its almost 500 bucks so I think its pretty complete I just wonder if any one has installed one in this forum. thanks
( whats that smoke comin from)

If the 4 dr parts car wiring harness is decent, I would go that route. Get a wiring diagram for that car, will be invaluable...............

The EZ-Wire Kit is only $165.00 ... and you don't have to remove it.

I meant to say that you don't have to remove the wires from another car ... you mentioned buying a parts car and removing the harness, etc. THIS way is much easier!

PS - After you get your kit ... and before you start wiring ... check this page out on my site: Mad Electrical Improvements

If I had it to do all over again, I would do the main power feed to the fuse box from the firewall and I would wire up the alternator, my electric fan and my headlights the way I'm showing (above) rather than the way the kit does it. The kit's way is okay, but the way I'm doing it in this new way is much, MUCH better!!!
