Out of round rear brake drums

I took off some new rear drums off a car I parted a few years ago and installed them a couple weeks ago and they are terribly out of round and were not when taken off the parts car, what could possibly cause that by just sitting in the garage. I am also getting a slight vibration comming from the rear at above 60 and was wondering if the drums could be causing that and they are terrible when hitting the brakes. I never had this car at highway speeds before I changed the drivetrain so I dont know how it was but it did have a new U joint go bad that caused a severe vibration but its replacment has taken out 90 percent of the vibration felt comming from the rear. Sometimes the drums will be out of balance or the rims/tires will be out. I would pull the wheels and look at the drums and see if they are hitting in places and the shoes missing in other places. Go ahead and turn the drums ...
if in doubt ...
