Over the mountain and thru the woods, look what I found
I was going to a cruz last week and the town is about 30 miles away, but if I took back roads up over the mountain its a lot shorter, so thats what I did. I'm almost the the town, when I came around a bend and along side the road sat this car. I hit the brakes and stopped and took a look. 1951 Pontiac, nice, looked good. I wonder how much they want for it, I said to myself, since no one was with me. UP to the house I go, no one home. I get to the cruz and I'm talking to a couple of the locals and I mention this Pontiac, oh yea, thats Larry so-n- sos, he wanted $2500. but he will talk on it. Well I couldn't get back down until last night. Knocked on the door out comes Larry and introductions were made. I asked how much he was asking for the old car and he said" you know its worth a lot more then the $2500 I was asking, but if you are serious, I take $1000. I want to buy my wife a motorcycle.". Wheels in my head started turning, since I just happen to have 97 Honda VLX, with only 8000 mi. on it, that I was thinking about selling, so I told him what I have and if he was interested we might be able to work a deal. he offered me the car, plus $1000. I told I wanted more, so he offered me the same plus a 80 something Jeep, I just can't remember what year, since I wasn't interested in the jeep. I told him I would be back and see what we could do. When I got home I showed my wife the pics I took and told her about the offer and she looked at me and asked why I didn't do the deal, you can always sell the jeep. Da dummy me, never even thought of that. Needless to say, tomorrow I will be back there to see if he was serious. This car is almost all original, with the flat in line 8, 3 on the tree, the only thing I can see are the door panels have been done. Take a look at pics this thing is nice. I hope I can work this out, I want this car sitting in my drive way Saturday, oh yea, its a driver.

I was riding my bike one day when I found a 4 door version of the same exact car in the woods. I fell in love with that car instantly but the sad part is It was beyond repair

Worked a deal out on the Pontiac and should have it home in the next couple of days. I started it up and you should here it purr. everything works except for the brakes, I think they bleed down from setting for so long. the Indian on the hood even lights up! I'm pretty happy right now. I'll post some more pics when I get her home.

The deal is done and the car is home! I had some problems with the brakes, like they were froze up, but we got her on the trailer and the next day I got the brakes free. She moves on her own, the clutch feels good and everything works. before I put it on the road, I will need to do a complete brake job, I don't want my wife driving it the way it is. Oh ya I don't think I mentioned it but this car is for my wife to drive, she's the one that told me to get it , so it is hers. Here are a couple more pics of it at my house. Can you see Jack, my dog it the car with me?

A Fulton visor and some Appleton spots and you'll be "downtown".
