I found out the travel of 93-04 Intrepid/Concord R&P is 6.9" which means they may work on my project.
I'm considering using with the front cross member/control arms from a 95 Roadmaster/Caprice.
1) Does anyone happen to know the overall length of these assemblies?
Thanks
Hi techinspector1,
I have settled on using the cross member, arms, spindles from the 95 Roadmaster.
Making room for the steering box is certainly possible as you previously suggested, but r&p would be nice and would require a lot less removal of the original frame.
The intrepid/concord r&p is front steer and center-take-off which would possibly work in a conversion similar to: http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/Swapping_to_rack_and_pinion_steering.
In that article he used a cavilier r&p which is rear steer and only has a travel of 6.1".
I need about 7" of travel to equal the travel of the 95 steer box.
Thanks
