overfill oil

I just had my 1970 nova serviced, and I think they put too much oil in. My car now leaks very bad. what would happen to the engine if the oil was over filled would this cause it to leak.

Yeah, and it can also cause the piston skirts to break off and fall into the oil pan. No joke. Been there, done that.

Check the level on the dipstick. If it is overfilled, place a large oil drain pan under the drain plug and drain out a little at a time. Keep checkin' the dipstick until it registers correctly. Messy, yeah, pretty messy. Just about ruins your manicure.

Never happened to me before(with a motor, tranny yes). From what I've been told is that the crankshaft will beat against the oil and actually turn it into a froth.

Why not just check your oil? That's an easy way to check if there's too much.
