"Overhaulin" - Lance Armstrong's Pontiac GTO

One question right here, if anyone has seen the show ...

They got the body sandblasted .. covered some spots with body filler .. ok so far.. the body was bright sandblasted metal shiny

Now later on they were adding a skim coat before they sent the body for primer ... BUT.. this time before they were adding the skim coat.. the body's surface was black.. or should I say.. blackened.. not shiny metal

What happened ? Obviously I missed out on something ... can anyone tell me what they actually did ???? Did they use etch before the skimcoat and primer ?

i missed that episode but i can assume it was sprayed with a black epoxy primer before the filler was applied. you cant put filler over etch so it wouldn't have been that.

Not POR

Not for the body, for the chassis yes, even the seats, springs etc got a good dose of POR15 .. but not the body

Thing is ... the body didn't look hmmm 100 percent smooth black... it was like someone had dyed it black .. and they never showed running over it with black epoxy primer
