oxygen sensor issues

I got a 1990 chevy 1500, v8 305, 2wheel dr. I need to replace the 02 sensor and the only one I can find is not long enough to reach my connector. It's about 4 iches too short. The wire on the one I have is 12 inches, not including sensor, and all the parts stores in town carry the same one. I can't use a universal b/c the old one was already cut so I don't have enough wire to splice. Gotta get emissions since I moved to Ga. Any help?

how many wires does it have 1 or 3 or 4? 1 wire would be easy just splice a piece in and solder

If you're bound to using the sensor you now have- unless you can reroute the wiring to give you enough to reach the new sensor's wires- the only good option I see is to solder on extensions to the existing wires.
