p/g vs th350 dipstick tube
ahhhh the little things
 so while gathering up all the little odds and ends for putting the drive train back in my chevy on sat. i realized that the tube i had with the original power glide will not fit correctly in the new th350. the mounting tab at the bell housing sits even with the edge of the bell housing instead of behind it also the tube doesn't seem to be sitting at the correct angle did i miss something or are they different? there is also the possibility that im using the wrong tube altogether

If i remember they are different the pg i think has a smaller tube on it or the th350 one way or the other, and won't fit down in the trans the best way is just to check whith what you have . Have you checked to see if it will fit in the trans yet ? If not you might have to get a new dipstick and tube for it they do sell them. But hang out someone else might come along and have a better way for you.

it will fit in the tranny but it seems a bit loose even with a new o ring also it sits to far forward so i cant pull it back enough to get the bracket hole to line up with the bell housing hole.

They are two different tubes, go to auto-zone and get a chrome tube they fit snug in the case but I just grind the chrome plating off and it goes in but don't forget the o-ring.

They are different, bent different. None of the GM Auto transmission sticks interchange, Powerglide, TH350, TH400 are all different, and there are also differences due to Chevy or BOP, case to block bolt pattern changes the retention tab location.

well it sounds like a trip to the storage space is in the works this week i might have a 350 tube some where or its off to auto zone.... thanks guys.
