Paining 38 chevy truck, in which order.
In a while I will be ready to paint mu truck.
It is going to be metallic brown at the bottom, and the top will be champaign.
I will also be painting my chassis in the same brown color.
I don't know exactly where to start and what to do last.
Should I paint the interior and also clear it, then sand the over spray away and mask at a point where it won't be visible(difficult if I don't use weatherstrips).
Then put color on the outside and pull the tape. after that clear the outside and polish the clear over spray away.
Or should I only put color on and clear it together with the outside, that means I will have to clear all the parts separate.
the problems I think I will run in to.
If I do the chassis first, I will have to mask it very well.
If I do it last I have the risk of damaging the cab and other parts while disassemble it and re mount them.
Because it will be metallic paint, it is better to spray the truck at once, not the different parts separately. Although the fenders are on a different angle, maybe they can be painted separately. some parte that are in line with each other have to be painted together.
But what about the places where the fenders mount to the front and to the bedsides. There will be a line there, that i don't want.
Then there is the problem that I won't be able to spray the back of the cab and the front of the bed when the whole truck is assembled.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
