Man, that's a bummer. Sorry to hear that.
Or...you could put another dab of primer in the gun, shoot some more little spots in other places...and tell everybody about your custom paint job..... Many moons ago, I painted my race Jeep with Martin-Seynour bc/cc. Used a teal main color, with red scallops. I had picked a deep red metallic for the scallops, but wanted something brighter. Working at a truck shop, I found a truck painted bright metallic red....an Imron color. I got the manager to give me a quart of that color, and shot the main part of my scallops with that. I figured that Imron was also a bc/cc paint, so it must be the same as the Martin-Seynour....wrong. After that set up, I loaded up with the deep red to fog in around the grille, headlites and just to highlite the scallops. As I started spraying, the new paint started separating, splitting apart....like a dried-up river bed. I just figured I'd let it go and see how it dried. It layed out nice and flat, so I cleared over the scalloped area, blocked it and cleared it some more. After buffing, it was beautiful. You could see the bright red showing thru the cracks in the deep red; all my friends complimented me on the "custom" paint job. It worked out fine...just a stupid accident. And I guess I invented Vreeble by accident.....probably just how HOC did it....could happen. |

Thats a cool story, I do a lot of air brushing and lots of time there are little mistakes and instead of repainting it is easer to manipulated it into something cool.

Thats the way I learned the importance of Taking the gun apart to clean it. Something will always wait until the last coat to spit out...especially on a white car....(my screw up) resand with 4-600 and reshoot the bad panels or sand the spots and blend if its a BB/CC

yeah .you cant blend that cheap SS candy paint anyway. You have to redo the whole car car.
SS is only good for solid colors.... True candies are a three stage process... |
