I have one, I would not say it is as good as the top of the line guns out like SATA. I have seen guys use them doing some awesome work, but very few out there. One thing I do like about it is the very odd "atomization control" where you can turn it down to zero atomization "throwing" the product at the panel!
Why would you want this you ask, well for shooting something where you don't care how smooth it goes on like floors, with very little overspray. I like the darn thing, it's an old work horse of mine. Brian |

Like Brian said, they have always been a good German gun, I have had a number of 800's and really thought the quality was as good as a sata or Iwata, I stopped buying them only because, it was like pulling teeth to find parts or something as simple as a cup top.
Too me the 800 with optional MS cap was a high solids clears spraying monster, wasteful but sweet! |

No, I just don't think you can rank paint guns in any order.
If a person has a Sata then its the best, same with any other gun. I have the LPH400, Sata 2000 RP and the Sata 3000 RP and personally all three guns are great guns but to hands down, say one is the best, I cannot because first I know I spray different then you do, so what fits you, may not work for me. I like my 2000 RP better then the 3000 RP but a LOT of painters like the 3000 a lot better then they did their 2000. Personally, my GEO gun I think, with some very fine tuning will spray a HS clear better then any of them, problem is gun must be fined tuned for each different product you spray, so not as forgiving and with that not a gun for everyone. |

funny how people feel better by ranking stuff. You can only get clear so flawless
. ANY one of those guns will do it. And personally, a Devilbis Plus will consistantly lay clear down just as flawless as a Sata 3000 rp and at HALF the cost.

See, my point exactly!! I have in shops tried to use the devilbis plus and other finish line models, it is the only gun I cannot make work for me. I can lay the Clears OK that would pass insurance work but no way could do a high dollar job with out buffing my life away. In all fairness I have only tried these guns on high solids clears, they may work better on medium solids clears I'm sure. |

And of course my favorite, The Sharpe Platium.
Every time I mention it I feel like it's 1995 and I am talking about my Devilbiss JGA502 (the sexiest gun ever made!). Brian |
