paint gun help?

i got a matco gravity feed gun i got a few years back. i need to find parts for it! there is no numbers on the gun at all. ive taking it in to a few paint shops with no luck. so i was hoping someone on here can help me find a needle a tip for it. it has a 1.3 now but need a 2.0 for spraying my primers.

so if someone knows anything about who makes there guns would be a big help.. thanks

From my experience, Matco guns are copies of a brand name gun and if it sprays well with a 1.3 tip, why not use this gun for color and clear and with the money you'd spend on finding a needle and cap...why not spend it on a copy gun from Harbor Freight or another reproduction manufacturer that sells guns with a 1.8 or 2.0 needle and cap? It would probably be cheaper this way and then you would have 2 guns, 1 specifically for color and 1 designated for primer only. You will prolong the life of your Matco gun and primer gets sanded off anyway so a cheaper gun would suffice.

Hope this gives you an alternative.

Ray

i want to buy a new gun for doing my base/clear like a iwata lph400 there alittle on the $$ but a nice gun.. then just put a bigger tip and nozzle in my matco gun to make it a primer gun. it paints nice but its not a HVLP gun and the spray pattern is a little on the small side.. makes it real hard to spray pearls..

I've use both 400 series Iwata guns and they both perform very well...You didn't mention earlier that you would be in the market for an Iwata...Have you tried contacting Matco and see what they say about a bigger needle and cap?
