Paint or powder coating, which is best

I have a set of aluminum centerline turbine wheels that I plan to refurbish. I want to paint or powder coat these wheels. Which process is the most durable.

Depending on the wheel, powder coating might tend to outgas during the curing process. Creating bumps that don't look good at all, causing them to have to be done more than once. I would say pc would be better, since that's what I know.

As far as durability is concerned I have not had any serious issues either way..Sometimes on those turbine wheels fellows will paint the interior and then polish the tips so to speak. then clearcoat the whole thing...The modern 2part urethanes are very durable..

Really depends on the final effect a fellow wants..

I have powder clear coated polished tranny cases and if anything should out gas those are it. However they always come out perfect. My opinion is either one will come out very nice if done w/ reasonable skill. Urethane is very durable but can't compete with PC which is durability champ. I would go PC on something like a wheel which will see some abuse.
