Hey anybody ever use chroma paint with a nason clearcoat. I ve been painting since I was 16 and have painted gas tanks , cars bikes ,motors and a boat. Right now I'm painting this guys computer case and I am having problems,I painted the case red and putting some tribal art in black but it seems everytime I start to tape off the art and pull off the tape the clear comes of with it. Any suggestions?Think maybe the nason clear is not bonding wiht the chroma paint?

[color=orenge]I'm a big Dupont user, and no I don't think it's a problem of them reacting to each other. Chroma and Dupont are perfectly interchaingable.

It sounds like you may need more hardner in your clear or let it stand lounger befor wetsanding and laying out your patterns.
Follow the mixing directions for the hardner.

You should be appling it like this....

After spraying your base coat wait till it flashes

Spray tack coat of clear wait til flash (10-15 min)

spray wet coat of clear wait til flash

spray 2nd wet coat of clear and let cure for at least 24 hours

scuff with 600grt or scutchbright bad

layout your patern and mask

spray your pattern and remove mask

spray on a tack coat of clear wait til flash

spray on 1 to 3 more wet coats and you should be set.


Dupont pain relies heavaly on proper airflow for drying and cureing so that may also be something to check on.
