Paint Question. What info does the paint shop need...

I could probably just call my local paint store, but I thought I'd ask you guys first. What information does the paint store need to mix a specific color for me. It's a current production model ford mustang color called - Dark Shadow Grey Clearcoat Metallic. Will they need a ford color code number to mix this? If so, how do I go about getting that information?

Somebody gimme a hint,

Thanks in advance,
Pencilneck314

Call up a Ford dealership and talk to the paint department. The paint store will need the code...

Good deal, Thanks

Pencilneck314

I suppose there's no where I could find this online? I plan on using PPG Paint, but I looked on their site and I couldn't find a color code chart.

Thanks,

color code should be on the vin plate if you got some way of decoding it.

I don't have a VIN number. The color code I need is from a 04' mustang to go on a 67' fastback. I've seen the color and was wondering what info a paint store would need to get me an exact match in PPG.

Any answers?

Go to your local paint supply or a body shop and ask to see their '04 color charts. The coloralong with the code will be on the chart. If you have trouble getting a code let me know and I can get it for you on Monday when I go back to work.

Sounds good to me, will do. I'll post their response on Monday since they're already closed.

Thanks again,
