paint questions
I am about to start our paint project. We are going to paint the front fenders, hood, and interior of cab first. We are going to spray with epoxy primer on the bare metal areas 1st let it dry for about 30-45 minutes and then spray the 2k primer on top of the epoxy and the rest of the parts that were not bare.
Then, we are going to wet sand with 600 wipe down again and then spray the paint. How long can we wait between spraying the 2k and sanding and begining to spray the base coat? I dont have alot of time so I am trying to get as much done as I can when I have time. I thought I read if you wait more than 18-24 hrs of spraying primer we would have to scuff the primer before painting. I am trying to avoid that step if its true. Thanks for any help! |

Wait about an hour and shoot the base..the scuffing between coats is as much about doing a quality job as anything..gets all the bugs and trash that may sneak in..
