paint types

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using the HOK Shimrin paints. I plan to use a Kandy apple red, I'm thinking about a urethane base product. I haven't had much experience in using this product. any advice? sc

I agree. A conventional candy is much harder than normal to get evenly sprayed over the car, and repairs are extremely hard to match.

A dark base color makes makes it a little more likely.

I would recommend a "candy basecoat" instead. That is the candy with a metallic or pearl mixed into it, instead of having the metallic in a layer under the candy. It is not quite as rich... but much much easier to use.

If it is a street car, I would not even consider a conventional candy.
