Pan level VS stick level th350

A fortunately unfortunate thing happened today. Got the transgo th350 1and2 kit. Put it in,ofcourse after realizing it really is no different than the B&M stuff and once again a perf comp lied to move a product. Anyhoo all that aside I pinched the pan gasket and it spewed tranny fluid. My question is how much of a difference is there tween running tranny level and stopped engine tranny level? Cause my chinese dipstick says I need a quart and change, but as the cars up on the hoist shut off its spewing a good quart out this pinched spot in gasket, which would have me believe near a 6 quart diff tween running and sut off REALLY?

a 6 quart drain back at engine shut off? Never seen that. Not quickly either

I have seen some dip stick - tube assemblys off quite a bit

Wonder how a fella could tell when he's got the right level? At shut off I shouldnt have more than a pan full should I?Wonder how close I'd be if it were on the hoist and I loosened the pan just enough that it started leaking out the front ,then retightened when it stopped

FWIW, Art Carr says the ATF should be 1/4" above the pan (pan overfilled by 1/4", in other words) w/the engine off, tranny cold.

Thats what I got now. So even though my stick says add a quart I'll leave it
