Panel adhesive usage

I was hoping for some insight as to the use and strength of the panel adhesive. I'm working on a Truck for my son and we're shaving all the door handles and such, I've welded in the door latches and that's all fine, He also is removing the rear view mirrors,It's a 08 Dodge and like so many vehicles the mirror mounts where in years gone by the vent window was, I'm making up a metal panels to fit the triangular shape where the mirror mount used to be and was wondering if the panel adhesive would work in this type of application, the doors are laying in the family room so vertical or horizontal is not an issue and the new mirrors are not going to mount in the same area.I was going to use the adhesive and just a little filler around the perimeter just so smooth out any little gaps. Thanks, Eric

The thing to consider is that the panels have to overlapped so you have surface to adhere to when using panel adhesive..

I would be worried about ghost lines personally... welding won't take too long

Thank you both. I didn't want to overheat the window track but I'll just use some wet rags to shield it. Thanks again

The window and track come out VERY easy, don't leave it there, just remove them.
